Long Weekend Coming Up.....

Any plans...we don't have any as of yet but I hoping to get in a few day trips...

Bodies Revealed
is at Foxwoods Casino in Ledyard, Connecticut!

If you haven't heard of this yet try Googling it, it's a really fascinating look at the human body and how it works. It was in Boston last year when we went down to Parris Island & we never got a chance to see it, so maybe this time.

Mr. P wants to have a New England Clam Boil....this is just TDF, ever had one, yes/no??? Here's the "how to" or the :411" as the kids say, lol!

Ingredients
2 lbs fresh clams in shell
2 lbs fresh mussels (fresh in the shell)
6 small potatoes, washed
1 onion, sliced
1 1/2 lbs chorizo sausage or linguica sausage
6 hot dogs
6 ears of corn
1 package of breakfast sausage links
2 (12 ounce) bottles beer
water
salt and pepper
red pepper flakes (optional)
melted butter, for dipping
lemon, for dipping

Directions
1-De-beard and de-sand the mussels and clams. You may also be able to buy them already cleaned. Cut the chorizo into 6 large pieces (approximately 4 inch lengths).
2-In a large pot add the potatoes first, then the onion and chorizo and corn, hot dogs and sausage.
3-Add the 2 bottles of beer and then enough water to cover the chorizo. Add a generous bit of salt and pepper and then a pinch of pepper flakes if you want some extra heat. Cover and bring the pot to a boil. Cook for about 20 minutes until the potatoes are almost tender.
4-Add the clams and muscles and continue to boil for another 10 to 15 minutes or until the clams and muscles have popped open.
5-Serve with a small bowl of melted butter and lemon juice and another small bowl of the broth for dipping. Eat by pulling the seafood out of the shell, then dip into the broth to rinse any extra sand and then into the butter. Yum!

This is very easy to do and very easy to DBL & TRPL, if ya want to feed a crowd SO YUMMY!!!

I'd also like to go to the BassPro Shop, have you ever been there???? It's so fun, you can get some really neat clogs and warm socks....I know I know, I'm just getting ready for the long clod months ahead...

But can I let you in on a little secret???? I am missing my Billy so badly, I was thinking about this time last year and how excited we all were when the calender finally turned to September, it really was the final countdown now I go "o.k. 7 months down 17 more to go................UGHHHH"

He knows how much me & his daddy miss him, I've only told him once because it makes him sad so I just tell him I love him oh about 100 times every time he calls, lol!

Well enough of feeling sorry for myself, I'm going to snuggle in and read until my hubby gets up and then it's off to bed.

Until tomorrow ~ Have a great night & God Bless!
