Well gals, I made it through another Friday infusion....I must say that Karen the infusion nurse is the best! She keeps us laughing all morning long and my ever faithful friend Ken (he & I have been together for infusions every Friday for the past year and a half) well we just talk & laugh...makes the time go by!
Home & finished up my housework, now I'm going to take a long hot shower put on my new PJs & read....
Remicade tends to upset the stomach so Friday nights kind of stink, but, not to night SHHHHHHH DON'T TELL MR. P. PLEASEEEEEE!!! Starting tonight @ 11:00pm it's Fashion Day on the Q, so while I'm up I'll be doing some shopping.
Now if I can just figure out how to intercept all of my packages that will be arriving...Hey, a gal needs new summer duds doesn't she?????
Well, I'm off. Thank you for all of the kind words, sorry I was a poop last night ~ Love to all of you!!
Until tomorrow, Be Safe & God Bless...Please keep on praying, our military is out there fighting for our freedom so please keep them in your thoughts & prayers!

Not Much To Say.......
Well, I'm at a loss! It doesn't happen often, but tonight I just don't have anything to say...IMAGINE THAT?????
I just haven't been feeling like myself lately, so darn tired & sore :( I have Remicade tomorrow, my doctor's office called me this morning to see where I had my labs done...hmmmmmmm say I "you didn't tell me I had to have blood drawn, so I didn't go anywhere" ~ this irritates me! They have upped the dosage for all of the medication I take throughout the month and also the Remicade * I am supposed to have lab work done very 6 weeks to check my liver enzymes and inflammatory markers...maybe that's why my eyes have been a little yellow ~ I don't know. I'd like to quit all of it!
Unfortunately I carry the HLA-B27 which is a common indicator for Rheumatoid & Ankylosing Spodylitis, both of which I have ~ I hope that my kiddos don't have it and that it will not be passed on to their children....they only test you for the gene if you show signs and symptoms GRRRR!
Well, I'm sure that you don't want to hear me babble on & besides I don't have anything to say remember!!
I read Julie's post and my heart broke...we lost a young man here too, he lived two streets over from us and graduated a year before our Billy, billy knew him but doesn 't kno wyet of his passing! He was killed by a sniper. He came home today and the streets were lined with his classmates, friends & neighbors & his family...Mr. P went to see him come home, he just stood there crying & praying and trying to imagine what that young man's parents must be feeling...he leaves behind a small child, who will grow up to know that his Daddy was a true American Hero.....
Until tomorrow, Be Safe & God Bless....please keep up the prayers ~ they really work!!!

I AM READY FOR THE SUN, MY FLIP FLOPS, A DAY AT THE BEACH ~ when I am not wearing a turtleneck & sweatshirt!!!
Jeepers, well....I'm off. Going to curl up under my quilt and have a cup of hot chocolate! Yup, I think Old Man Winter likes it here!!
Until tomorrow, Be Safe & God Bless!

Joke of The Day....
When Billy was away at Boot Camp I used to write to him every night when I got in from work....I always kept his letters chipper & upbeat. He asked me to PLEASE KEEP HIM UP ON THE RED SOX & then the Summer Olympics and of course world events....so I would write his letters like I was reading a news broadcast. He really got a kick out of them...but, I ended each letter with "THE JOKE OF THE DAY"
I was rearranging things in his closet last night and had to move a giant duffel bag, when I took it down it was every letter he had received while down at Parris Island, we, MR. P & me wrote to him every night without fail so with our letters and then all of the friends and our families that had written well HE HAD A LOT OF LETTERS! I started to look through them and thought that it would be fun to share some jokes with all of you....
You've probably heard them already but just in case here are a few!!!
I'm desperately trying to figure out why kamikaze pilots wore helmets.
Military Meal Standards
MARINES: Meals, Ready-to-Eat 3 times a day.
ARMY: One hot meal, 2 MRE's.
NAVY: 3 hot meals.
AIR FORCE: Catered meals prepared by the Galloping Gourmet, Julia Child, Wolfgang Puck and Emeril Lagasse. All you can eat
Ways to Amuse Yourself During A Military Urinalysis
Ask your observer if he wants to race.
Wear a diaper.
Urinate all over the outside of the cup, and then refuse to wash your hands with anything accept antibacterial soap.
Inquire about a "take home cup."
Get your privates stuck in your zipper.
After four-and-a-half hours of holding it, pee so hard you knock the cup out of your hand.
When the nurse asks you to witness the cup being empty, insist that you have to stick your finger in there to "check it out for yourself."
When they call your name, walk to the counter looking really concerned. Calmly explain to the nurse that you haven't studied for this test, and want to know if there's any extra credit.
Put some water in your boot before the test. When you get to the peeing part, take off your boot, pour it into the cup, and shamefully say that you just couldn't wait.
Ask the observer to slap you on your rear-end a few times, just to get things going for you.
Bring a drink umbrella for your cup.
Since this person has probably seen a lot of people pee, ask him how you measure up.
Before you start, self-check for hernias (turn, cough, etc...)
Wear a condom.
As a group of soldiers stood in formation at an Army Base, the Drill Sergeant said, "All right! All you idiots fall out."
As the rest of the squad wandered away, one soldier remained at attention.
The Drill Instructor walked over until he was eye-to-eye with him, and then raised a single eyebrow. The soldier smiled and said, "Sure was a lot of 'em, huh, sir?"
Getting the Ship Under Way
A young ensign had nearly completed his first overseas tour of sea duty when he was given an opportunity to display his ability at getting the ship under way. With a stream of crisp commands, he had the decks buzzing with men and soon, the ship had left port and was streaming out of the channel. The ensign's efficiency has been remarkable. In fact, the deck was abuzz with talk that he had set a new record for getting a destroyer under way.
The ensign glowed at his accomplishment and was not all surprised when another seaman approached him with a message from the captain. He was, however, a bit surprised to find that it was a radio message, and he was even more surprised when he read, "My personal congratulations upon completing your underway preparation exercise according to the book and with amazing speed. In your haste, however, you have overlooked one of the unwritten rules - make sure the captain is aboard before getting under way."
And my favorite!

A Day At The Beach......
We spent the afternoon at the beach, Mr. P, Ms. B & Me.....it was a beautiful day! The sun was shining, the waves were rolling & crashing, I kicked off my socks & shoes and walked in the sand STILL VERY COLD but it felt sooooo good!!!!
Mr. P was sporting his waders so that Ms. B could get her swimming in...she didn't want to stop! He tossed her bumper & she retrieved it for almost two hours! When he put it away she just kept crashing on out there and rode the waves back in! She's a mess! It's helping with her leg a lot & if she keeps on this path she'll back out hunting this fall!!!
I wandered away for a bit by myself and just kept snapping pictures...I took about 100 of them...so many to pick from!
I loved the gulls on the rocks & the starfish ~ I threw him back in the water....
Well, that's it for today! Hope you get to come along with me the next time we hit the beach!
Until tomorrow, Be Safe & God Bless....

Yes, you guessed it I am deathly afraid of lightening ^ we are having one heck of a storm so I need to hurry ~ BEFORE A BOLT COMES STRAIGHT DOWN AND ZAPS ME!!!

Spring Finally Sprung In Our Little Yard.......
This picture was taken on Easter Sunday, I don't know if you can see him or not....but,there is a fat little squirrel eating cashews ~ Mr. P always yells at me for feeding them, but I can't help it ~ I THINK THEY ARE SO CUTE!!!!
A few years ago we had a momma & two baby squirrels that lived up in that tree & they used to come up on the railing of the deck when I would come out and wait for me to feed them!!!
The lilac bush right outside our slider, I love to open the door and smell these beauties, hopefully they will be in full bloom soon!
My flower box in the back...Ms. B loves to jump up in there and root for the bulbs ~ GRRRRRR!
Well, that's it for tonight.
Until tomorrow, Be Safe & God Bless.....

Nikky had some sad news, her friend passed away early Saturday morning, she was so upset. Poor sweetie! Please say a prayer that the mother of that young lady can find peace, it just breaks my heart... I don't know what I would do if anything ever happened to my Nikky or Billy. They are my life!

I Am The Mom.....
You don't know, but I am the mom who cries every morning and hopes every night for his safe return. I am the mom that drags herself out of bed every morning so that he will be proud of her when he comes home.
You don't know but I am the mom with a million things to say, but none will come out without the thought of him. I am the mom who checks her phone every 5 seconds just to make sure I haven't missed his call. I am the mom who stops and stares and wishes for him to return soon each and every time another man in uniform walks by.
What you don't know is that I know love on an entirely different level than most. I know the love that spans time and space. The love that most parents are constantly searching for. ...
I can tell you I know more about love in homecoming, then most know in a lifetime. You don't know that when he left a part of me went with him and a part of him stayed with me. You tell me that you know how I feel and understand what I am going through, but you have no idea, so please don't say you do.
What you don't realize is that I understand the true meaning of not only love but of longing and anticipation.
You don't see, but I am one of the few who gets goose bumps and chokes back the tears as my heart fills with pride everytime I hear the National Anthem play. I am one of those moms that will stand tall and stay strong on the outside when I feel like I am dying on the inside.
I am one of the moms who will make friends with complete strangers, for only they can begin to understand what I am going through for they go through it each and every day also with one of their loved ones serving. And please don't say you do, because you never will. You don't understand that I picture his face everywhere I go and he is with me in everything I do.
You think I don't cry anymore, that I have gotten over it... What you don't know is that I just hide it better and cry every day.
You don't know the feeling the word "deployment" brings to any of us whose beloved sons' serve.
Or the feeling of his hand as it slides out of your hand for what could be forever as he boards the bus, the ship or the plane that will take him to harms way. You don't know what that last smile, hug and kiss mean, how important that goodbye truly is.
You tell me you support the troops, I tell you I love a Marine. I am one of the silent, but outgoing. One of the weak but strong. Scared but Proud.
What you don't see is that he needs me & I need him.
I am one of those moms who stands tall behind her Marine.
Stands tall behind her hero.
Stands tall behind her son.
Watching silently and patiently as he serves and defends our country, praying many, many times throughout the day for his safety......waiting for him to come home with that same mischieveous smile and that same twinkle in his eyes and to hear those precious, precious words, "Mom, I'm on US soil. I'll be home soon."
You don't see that I will drop to my knees and thank God for my son's safe return. You don't know the tears of relief I will sob and you don't know that for the first time in many, many months, I can truly breathe again.

Ms. B Has An Infection In Her Knee.......
My Ms. B has an infection in her knee...poor pooch! The vet said, yes the vet AGAIN...thankfully he isn't charging us fo rthe visits just all of the medication she is taking...but, he said that she was actually doing really well, better than most that he has done this type of surgery on! That made Mr. P feel good, he has been so worried about her (yes, we're crazy dog people, she's our little baby)...
She'll be happy to know that she can continue with her swimming, only thing she has to swim in salt water until the infection clears up & BROTHER DOES SHE LOVE THE BEACH!!!!
Mr. P will be taking her tomorrow morning & if it isn't raining I'll be going too with the camera!
Hoping to hear from Billy, we haven't spoken to him ~ Vonage can't get through the firewall security so calls aren't getting through :(
My poor sweet Nikky got some bad news today, one of her sorority sisters has leukemia and was in remission, they were told this morning that she wasn't doing well at all and it would be long now, her mom wanted the girls to be able to see her. Nikky said she was sedated but they went in and sat around her bed and talked to her all afternoon ~ poor sweetheart, she's an only child...pray that she doesn't suffer anymore and that her mom can find peace. She doesn't want her to suffer any longer.
Until tomorrow, Be Safe & God Bless

Well Hello.......
Hello gals! Just stopping by to say HI! I worked late tonight and then it was home to my four legged kiddos!
Ms. B has started hydrotherapy for her leg. She went back to the vet again yesterday because she was having a hard time getting around the last few days. We have been walking her around the back yard like the instructions said to do but when the vet looked at her and reviewed her x-rays again he said that maybe walking was a bit much so try her with swimming. Mr. P took her this morning SHE LOVED IT!!!! And then she went to the range with him and laid in the grass and watched him shoot for a bit...she was right in her element! MY poor girl, I hope that all goes well and she's back out hunting in the fall with her BFF. He missed her this past year!
That's about it for tonight, I'm beat. I don't think that the Remicade is working like it had been, we evaluate how I feel once a month before the infusion and I haven't been all together honest...maybe I'll fib a time or two more and see how I do, yuck! Well, enough of feeling sorry for myself. I'm going to make a hot cup of tea and snuggle in with my book & my furry pals!
Until tomorrow, Be Safe & God Bless!
