Friday At Last.....

O.k. so I know you are just as anxious as I was this morning before stepping up to that dastardly scale to do battle, guess what this week I Won, yup....
+
A pound & 1/4 I could have kissed that Weight Watcher Lady, hehehehe!

Then off to shhhhhhhhh, the mall!!!
, the goods are still in the trunk of the car ~ YIKES. Hubby was supposed to be installing replacement windows at a friends house today but they had to paint the sticks (like I even know what that means) so he came home early, DARN!

Billy the kid called this morning at 4:00am, that's just about the time I really fall into a deep sleep, I was so groggy I couldn't get his name out. Poor sweet child thought something was wrong...I do miss him so, I wish they had shirts that said 1/2 my heart is in Okinawa ~ I'd buy one for every day of the week!

I was thinking about so many things today and realized how lucky I am, I have such a wonderful husband and my children are my world & who could ask for more???
Ahhhhh ~ The Family!

This was taken last Thanksgiving, I get so sad thinking about the holidays with out Billy at home...o.k. I can't even write about it because I'm filling up!

O.k. ~ we're hoping to hit the beach tomorrow, and I promise to take pictures and then off to a BBQ and fireworks, I'm going to make my zucchini cakes ~yummo!!. Billy's Auntie Fran always has a cook out on this weekend to celebrate Uncle Ed's birthday and also to see the fire works from Fall River Celebrates America Festival. Uncle Ed passed away this past February from pancreatic cancer so it will be bitter sweet. Auntie Fran & Uncle Ed are Little Billy's Godparents so they are kind of special to us, she e-mails him faithfully and sends little care packages every chance she gets.

Here's a picture of Uncle Ed and his girls, Kelly, Uncle Ed, Kimmy & Jocelyn taken last year at Billy's going away party...

Well I hope you have a great Friday night, tune in tomorrow night for the next edition of the Saturday Evening Post!

What A Day....

Well I tried so hard to get a picture of the gigantic swan that was holding up traffic this morning on the street where the medical building I work is located, but my camera strap was stuck and I couldn't grab it. He was so cute just taking his time walking right up the middle of the road, my office is located on the Blackstone River where the water turns brackish and we always have wild life in the parking lot or wandering up the road.

He looked like he just needed a top hat and a cane, so cute! I called the police station when I finally got in I didn't want him to get hurt. When the police office answered the phone and I told him where I was located and he asked if I was calling about the "crack-pot" bird waddling up the road, I just started laughing. The animal control officer came by and they scooped him up and set him back in the river.

And on the way home I drove around the back of the building to drop some things off in the Dr.s suite and I saw a cute little beaver, he was gathering up some sticks.

I thought I would introduce to a few of the people that I spend my days with Barbara & Linda, Linda w/ an I ~ Barb is the transcriptionist and Linda is a biller. We were so busy today I wanted to get a picture of Karen, she's Barbs sister she is one of the check-out gals, and she is a hoot! Then there is Lady Di she does check-out also and handles all of the hospital bookings...we call them the dynamic duo, they laugh all day long...

Anyway, this is Barb hard at work...

And Linda, sending out the bills...

And this is my disaster of a desk, lol. Actually for me that's pretty neat. I have organized mess, and by the end of the day all of the work is done, filed and my desk cleaned off until the next day. I code and bill for all of the hospital procedures and visits and all of the office testing and I audit all of the office/hospital visits before we bill them out. We have to be sure that everything is up to snuff! The doctors call it organized chaos and they say that I run the billing department like a Drill Instructor, firm but caring! One Doc calls me Ms.Type A, we are exactly alike and make each other nuts because we want everything done right the first time around! Enough Said!!!!!!

Only other news to report, I'm still tracking the Typhoons....really don't know to much. Billy is using his buddies phone his melted in his pack out on the range so he got a loner until his was fixed and the loaner died on him so until he gets his back he'll have to use Cpl. Norris' phone. He is in with some really good guys and they look out for one another so that makes me happy!

O.k.,I'm off to check out FaceBook!!! See you tomorrow, have a great night!

Oh, I almost forgot, the big Weight Watchers weigh in, I should start working myself up into a frenzy now and avoid the rush, LOL!

Raining Again........

Yes, it's only 7:47 pm and sooooo dark outside, thundering & lightening so I'm going to make this quick. I don't like being on the computer when it's stormy out. This is a true story about thunder/lighting & me, and yes, before you say WHAT....yes I really did this.

When Billy and I were first married we lived in a cute old Victorian house, we had the second floor apartment & we had a king size water bed in our bedroom. Well one night I was woken up by an awful crack of thunder and then this bolt of lightening, I really thought the earth was coming to an end it was so bad outside. Well, me being well, ME I wake my poor husband up and tell him that it's stormy outside, thunder, lightening, wind rain and he has to GET OUT OF THE BED. Well he just looks at me like I've gone mad and puts his head back down so I start to yell GET UP GET UP NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. He jumps up thinking did the house get hit what's going on. He starts to pull his jeans on and I say "why are you getting dressed, where are you going?" I proceed to grab the quilt and our pillows and make a little bed on the floor, now he really thinks I'm completely crazy and asks me "what the &*%$ are you doing?" The poor guy tries to get back into the bed and I become completely hysterical, yes really! When I tell him that we have to sleep on the floor because I'm afraid that we are going to get struck by lightening sleeping on a water bed he just throws up his hands and well my husband being such a sweet guy gets down on the floor and falls back to sleep. I lay awake for just about two hours listening to the storm getting further and further away, when I've determined that its far enough away & safe I wake him up again to tell him that it was "All Clear" we could go back to bed! He wasn't very happy with me.

The next morning he tried so hard to convince me that it was safe we wouldn't get hurt I wasn't buying it. From that day on until we got a new bedroom set, we would sleep on the floor in our room next to our bed every time we had a thunder and lightening storm because I refused to sleep in the bed and I made him so nuts that he just gave in, imagine....

Things I woun't do in a thunder and lightening storm.....
1. talk on the phone ~ you never know it could come down the pole and zap you
2. sleep in a water bed
3. go outside, your just a great big walking target
4. swim
5. wash dishes
6. run the dishwasher or washing machine
7. take a shower

do I need to say more...

Poor Max, he hates the thunder so much see he's trying to hide under the couch

And Bailey, she goes crazy when Max starts to bark and howl/talk... he jabbers away when he gets nervous. She's running around like a little nut, see how dark it got all of a sudden o.k. I have to scram....YIKES!

Oh, one more thing before I go, dark, rain, thunder & my favorite show Ghost Hunters...I'll have to DVR it lightening you know...can't be watching TV in a storm. Oh did I mention that Billy called this morning to tell me that they are on Typhoon "lock down" one more thing to have to worry about, I'm going gray!!!!!

Tuesday Take 2!

O.k., I'm back again today, feeling better I'm happy to say and I have made up my mind that I'm not going to let anything spoil my time in church, the Church needs money too....I'll just put my head down, take out my Rosary Beads (Billy gave them to me, he got them from the Parris Island Chapel the first time he went during Boot) and pray

Speaking of PI, I still keep up with the message boards, Lori in-boxed me and told me that a lot of moms got a kick out of my "MotoPosts" ~ I still can't help getting a little teary eyed every time another Platoon sets out for the Crucible....

Actually that's where I met some of the best people I have ever had the opportunity to meet, Cindy, Leah, Donna, Glenn, Lisa, Beverly, Uncle Serge....just to name a fewWe were a great big bunch of crazy moms, dads, aunts, uncles, friends... you name it. WE never missed a day... letter writing, posting up on the board, and chatting with our friends in the box!!!

Remember these little guys????
& my all time fav....

O.k. well, Nikky is waiting for a recipe so here goes! Enjoy!

Monday Blues.......

I have the headache from hell this evening, so I'm going to keep this short and sweet.....

To get right to the point I really, Really, REALLY do not like Mondays, actually I hate them.....always have!

When your Monday starts at oh, 12:30ish am and just keeps going, it really makes for a very long day.

I also seem to have faltering faith and really need to find time to get so many things in order and prioritize, so that may be giving me some stress too...I have always loved church and would love to be able to go and sit and pray and not have the priest make his entire homily be about money. I know that you can pray anywhere and that God is always with you but somehow I always feel closer when I am in Church. Make sense, can anyone out there relate.
So somebody please pray for me I need some help today. Ughh, this really is a "Blue Blog", YIKES, I'm sorry!

I'm sorry for being such a downer tonight, I'm going to go and get a bag of frozen veggies and lay down in a dark room before my head explodes!

O.k. gang, come back tomorrow I promise to be more upbeat. Have a great night!

Let Me Tell You What Happended Last Night!!!!

No, before you ask I AM NOT CRAZY! O.k., ready, sit tight...twice yesterday afternoon my husband thought I was in the room with him and when he turned around to look yup, you guessed it there wasn't anybody there. He kept it quiet until early this morning after a few unsettling events during the night.

Max, our older dog kept getting up and barking, when I went down to check things out everything was in order. The neighbors have a sensor light that goes on every time somebody goes by, but their light wasn't on, so I didn't think anything of it. After reassuring Max that there wasn't anything wrong we all went back to bed, a little while later he stared up again, this time I was ticked. I stomped down the stairs and found him hiding behind the dining room table with all of the fur on his back standing on end growling.....YIKES. This time I made him go upstairs.

During the night I came down with my shadow Bailey by my side, I couldn't sleep so we snuggled down on the couch, at about 4:15am I was woken up by footsteps in the hall, they came down the hall and then went back towards our bedroom. This type of roaming by my husband isn't uncommon if he has an early start due to a side job or is maybe going out to fish or hunt, he looks out the window at the end of the hall to check the weather so I thought it was just him maybe getting up to go fishing, Bailey even thought it was him she jumped down and ran to the bottom of the stairs a few seconds later she growled and jumped back up on the couch.

Now, I wouldn't think anything of it but my husband asked me if I had been in the bedroom after going downstairs earlier in the evening when I told him no he proceeded to tell me that when he came in from work Thursday afternoon ( he had to work a double shift, Wed. midnight to - Thurs 3:00pm) he thought that somebody was in the house, he heard shuffling upstairs and then thought it might be Max, but when he went by and looked in his dog-bed he was laying there looking up at him. When he went upstairs to our room his humidor had been moved and his cigars were all turned around and his nose spray and our back scratch er were on the floor by the door...hmmmmm very weird. His grandpa passed away here actually in our very bedroom about 10 years back. We have always felt something here but this is getting strange.....I really want to investigate but I'm to CHICKEN

Billy called us again this morning and his Dad relayed the strange goings on to him he just summed it up to Grandpa coming to look in on us.

I'll keep you posted.

Well with all of that activity throughout the night we were tired today, just look at poor Ms. Bailey with her "snuggy", she's exhausted!

Other than that it was a pretty uneventful day, the hubster washed the cars...

While I cooked a few things for the week and then treated myself to a pedicure, cute tootsies!

Well, that's all for today, I think that's enough don't you....so again just to reiterate I am not a nutter, but I do believe....so I'll probably be sleeping with all of the lights on tonight and don't worry I wont forget to check under my bed....

Saturday Evening Post....

Our day started off bright and early this morning, yup, you guessed it...we got our Saturday morning 6:30am wake up call all the way from Okinawa.....Billy calls us every Saturday morning and then again later in the evening or early Sunday morning our time. By that time he's already up laundry done and been to church and back!

Here's a picture of the Proud Papa talking to his Marine this morning.

Have you seen the new Dannon yogurt in the markets, it's only out for the summer time. Watermelon & Cantaloupe, it's so yummy!!!!

The beach was great, we found this nice little spot right behind the rocks, the surf was heavy so the waves were crashing up and over us...we had a very nice afternoon. I didn't want to take my camera out because I was afraid to get it wet. It's one of those fancy schmany ones so, yeah I need to get one that I can throw in my bag and not worry to much about. Needless to say we got quite a bit of sun. Here's me sunburned nose and all as I type my blog.

O.k,. well my hubby is out on the deck having a brandy and smoking a cigar and I want to go out and join him, but before I go here's a great recipe that's so easy to make, we had it with our sea scallops & spaghetti squash tonight!

Zucchini cakes

2.5 cups of shredded zucchini
2 tbs chopped onions
1 egg beaten
1 tbs margarine
1 tsp mustard
1 tsp Old Bay
1 cup bread crumbs

mix together, and form into 6 patties (i use a melon baller and make smaller ones, but you can make them as big or as small as you like, also very easy to dbl this recipe and make a bunch of them)

spray a non stick skillet with Pam and place the cakes in, let them crisp up on both sides and serve.

Cooking up.....

Finished product, YUMMO!!!!!
