Trash T.V..........

O.k., o.k., I'll admit it I'm totally addicted to "trash TV" as Mr. P calls it!!! I don't really watch a lot of television, sports, the food channel every now & again, HGTV ~ I love House Hunters International so I DVR it...let's see, Ghost Hunters and of course QVC but that doesn't count since it's more like therapy after a long day rather than TV....

But, ohhhhh, I am ashamed to even tell you this....I AM SO ADDICTED TO THESE TWO SHOWS!!!!!!





What can I say, maybe it's genetics???? My grandmother was a Jerry Springer JUNKIE ~ she even order Jerry Springer "TOO HOT FOR TV" crazy lady....

I don't know why....maybe it's the money, the glamorous clothes, the cars, the houses...the outlandish behavior I DON'T KNOW ~ I just can't help myself!!!!

I've never watched American Idol, not once, Dancing With The Stars, you can keep it....I just don't have time! But I somehow manage to DVR these two shows and watch every Friday morning (I work four ten hour days so Friday is my lazy morning) Ms. B & me make our coffee and snuggle up together @ 4:30am-ish (she gets up early for breakfast) and I just sit and stare at the BOOB-TUBE....

So there you have it, it's out in the open now...no more secrets...weeeelllllllll...maybe just a few more, if there are good "shows" on the Q I DVR it so I CAN WATCH & SHOP~~~~~~please don't tell on me!!!!????!!!!

Well....didja' ever have one of those day????? I did today & it got me to singing that old Elvis song from GI Blues...I know, I know ~ corny, hehe!!! Can't help it I LOVE Elvis!!!



Then when I came in I was still singing away so I had to come up here and find this song...I love all of those silly old movies....Bing Crosby in "Holiday Inn" ahhh so romantic, "Breakfast At Tiffany's" and Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Bob Hope....I could go on & on. I guess I love nostalgia!

This song made me think of all of our men & women serving honorably so FAR AWAY.....

This Cold Weather Is Like A Bad Relationship.....

Yes, that's right! This cold weather just won't GO AWAY!!!! We are expecting temps to go down into the low 30's to high 20's ~ frost warnings THE WHOLE NINE YARDS, UGHHHH!!!!

Do you know where the expression "The Whole Nine Yards" comes from???? Do ya, well, do ya????? No, want me to tell you? During WWII, the US Army Air Corps fighter aircraft had a maximum capacity of nine yards (belt fed) of ammunition for the machine guns. So if the pilots emptied their guns on the enemy they would say "I gave him the whole nine yards!" Just a little Military Trivia...I've got a lot more!

Happy Mother's Day.......

Happy Mother's Day to all of you! I hope that YOUR day was special and filled with lots of laughter & love!

We had a nice day, Mr. P gave me a beautiful Pandora Bracelet, with a few very special charms just waiting for me!! I have been wanting one of these for such a long time, the best part is ~ HE THOUGHT OF IT ALL BY HIMSELF!!!!



Mr. P picked out the N & B charms for Nikky & Billy, their birthstones, both are amethyst for February & the spacer is little hearts in pearl which is Mr. P's birthstone he was a June baby! I cried :/ Nikky & Mike gave me the sweet little purse, so cute I love it!!

We had a nice dinner together & chatted quite a bit!

Billy called me early this morning to wish me a Happy Mother's Day ~ I cried, he laughed!! He has a ship date WOOT WOOT!!!! June 25th Japan time, so he should be here either very very late the 25th our time or very very early the 26th.....I CANNOT WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON THAT MARINE!!!! His stuffed is being packed by TMO and will be shipped to California by the end of the week!!!! He leaves for Guam on Wednesday and spent Saturday getting things in order, they had to buy new khaki's & polo shirts, no tee's, jeans or shorts on this trip! They were told they were to "Look Sharp Ladies" :) He had a few more ribbons that he had to purchase for his dress blues, they have to dress their uniforms tonight as the Sgt. Major will be inspecting them before they are allowed to pack them.

One more wish on this Mother's Day ~ Happy Birthday to Theresa, many many more!

Cindy & Julie, I know that you are missing your sons today ~ know that we are praying for their protection and their safe return! Happy Mother's Day my Marine Mom Sisters ` OOH-RAH!!!!!

Final Salute........

It was requested of General James T. Conway, Commandant of the United States Marine Corps that the Marine Forces Pacific provide support and full military honors for Sgt. John Gerber (ret.), his funeral will be in Guam.

Sgt. Gerber served with the 3rd Marine Division in the Vietnam War. He also founded the Pacific War Museum which contained his personal collection of WWII memorabilia. He was dedicated to the United States Marines and to the Veterans of Guam. The Commandant has granted a funeral with full military honors.

You are probably asking yourselves "why is she telling us all of this"....because Billy was asked to serve as an Honor Guard, he will be part of the rifle party firing the volley salute. His friend Brian will serve as pallbearer. These two honorable young men had all they could do to hold back the tears while trying to tell us (Mr. P & me and Brian's mother & father ~ she and I talk regularly). They feel so proud to have been asked and are so happy to be a prat of something so monumental. The funeral will be held on Saturday May, 15th, they were told to expect a lot of press but to keep their "EYES FORWARD" ~ they are there to honor a fellow Marine!

They leave Wednesday for Guam, they will be there for five days. During this time they will be given Liberty but are to remain with their "team", they will be able to take in a few sights, so they are packing their cameras.

We couldn't be more proud of the young man that Billy has become, I only wish that I could see him in his full dress blues, he will be so handsome.

Godspeed my little man, safe travels, we are so proud of you!

Mr. P Has Had TOOOOOO Much Coffee....

Yikes, Mr. P figured out how to use the Keurig Coffee Maker, he's been brewing coffees all day long....he was buzzing all about the place when I got in tonight!

Said he felt like he was at Starbucks ~ what a nut!

He has to be up early tomorrow so I hope his caffeine induced high doesn't keep him up all night!

Now, about that nasty shopping habit I have....he'll be going back to work Sunday night & GALS LET ME TELL YOU THE GLOVES ARE OFF!!!! Shop till you drop baby :)

I got Mike the cutest "shower gift" just for him...I'd tell you what it is but he sneaks on and reads from time to time...let's just say that that guy loves to cook, and I hope he loves it!!!
